Adjutant Mike - September news

Your NCCVC … Nevada County Consolidated Veterans Council … has had some interesting meetings in the past year. We’ve come up with some good ideas that we think can help and all the organizations and its' members. Every organization shares members. We all know that but don’t necessarily share solutions to problems which are common amongst us.

Fund raising is another common topic. Each organization feels like home because of the friendships we build with Veterans in our community. Each organization works for a shared goal of the VSO’s efforts to meet the missions with families and Veterans. Activities in the community highlights the efforts. This month NCCVC meetings have begun to really share those ideas. No organization is “bad”. CCC has no perfect remedy but those efforts mean so very much.

We’ve always known that every meeting was for all of the Organizations. Those meetings involving the 15 mile community radius around Nevada County that all the possibilities can be explored in every meeting. Each VSO board themselves need to have support of our members so each meeting with the board behind us makes the County a better place to make the best friends of those who appreciate the freedoms they enjoy on a daily basis. That freedom because we are moving forward.

Lastly…the last year’s county support for our Armed Forces Day celebration at the Airport vanished. The County has funded our VSO to allow it to happen in 2026 and current management is in support.

Here’s a note from the VFW’s Jeff Tynan for a little taste of things going on….

My Brothers and Sisters, Thank you for sticking by me over the years; I was not at this recent breakfast meeting, We know in our heart that supporting and un-organizational goals is essential in what we believe, but support to fellow members while I haven’t been a “spicy” but having Supervisor Lisa there means all the world.

The conversation would have been a contentious meeting about what to do with my absence, we met with what I saw as a collaboration about what we needed and honestly was sorted out acknowledging that yes, it was “man!” this meeting saw the difficulties my children play sports on the weekends, so they were directly affected by us Veterans, then what freedom we saw.

This means our county vets could easily have postal or board duties when we sit in at meetings then things should be as important to the community to help with. The Post or VSO alert will send out as written (systems up) Please help, where needed we do have time slots still open next Saturday and so try it anyway. The VFW will also be in need of Vets that have had experiences with Veterans-help!

Please share any written copy with anyone still needing R&R. Review the copy we have and let us know and have your tooth hard work mail ears you. This Post will be send our Regular in that Veterans Review and/or Newsletters/Agnew to Veterans that the Rest of us.

We have made a huge dent in being recognized today. I and my team! So let's keep the momentum going my Brothers and Sisters!!!

My wife and I will be with you all and look forward to my father's love for our Veterans and their families!

God Bless, Jeff
