Adjutant Mike - July news
A few stories here ....
#1 Per the family's request photos from the Memorial Day Event were sent off to the Conter family. The photos shared were from several sources including Veteran Sandra Boyd and the UNION's Elias Nunez. Thank you. The Conter family expressed thank you's for the photos and were very appreciative of the community, The Legion and the City of Grass Valley for honoring Lou.
#2 Check out the flyer regarding the Heath and Wellness fair occurring July 23rd here at the Grass Valley Veterans Hall. The VSO, with help from all the Veterans Organizations, is bringing in a broad range of businesses and non profits to be available to the community but specifically Veterans. The County will be providing free bus service to various parts of the community andwe expect close to 60 services, a broad range of media and volunteers to be present. The Elks will be providing a free lunch. Spread the word, volunteer to help out or simply come on by and get those problems solved.
#3 Lake Wildwood and Welcome Home Vets is staging its' annual Injured Veterans Golf Tourney in support of Vets. The Grass Valley Vets Hall is about 12 minutes away from the Wildwood golf course. Better to have many support activities going on than just a few!!

#5 Coming in September the Town of Washington will stage its' second annual "Poker Run" in support of the Veterans Memorial being built. The Run will leave Washington in the morning, make their stops all over the area and wind up here at the Vets Hall to eat, party, have fun and raise funds starting at about noon till about 6pm. Mark your calendar.
