I create the content for the routine "Aging Well" UNION insert on behalf of the Nevada County Consolidated Veterans Council. The general goal is to share how the community supports its Veteran and Active Military and how each of us and our Veteran organizations in turn support the community.

In the last few months, for instance, we have fed our neighbors and they have repaired structures for Veterans' Widows. One of our Boy Scouts organized the repair and restoration of our damaged Memorial Park to restore honor to those lost.

This May we want to help honor our lost Veterans. The County Bridge Walk Tour will happen again. The City of Grass Valley will introduce its "Honoring Hometown Heroes" banner displays. Memorial Day programs will be held at Grass Valley's Memorial Park and Nevada City's Pioneer Park and other locations.

You can say thanks to our active by planning to attend the FREE May 16th "Armed Forces Day" at the Airport. Breakfast starts it off at 8am and fun continues till 3pm.
